Approach to Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is a process focused on helping you work through difficulties or issues in your life learn new, constructive ways to deal with them. It is also be a supportive process when going through a difficult period or under increased stress, such as starting a new career or experiencing relationship difficulties. Paula provides a safe, non-judgemental, and supportive environment for clients to work through the difficulties they are facing. Her approach is to enable clients to build on their existing strengths and resources to solve their problems and meet their goals. Working with adults, children, adolescents and their families, both counselling and psychotherapy are places to learn about yourself, your thoughts, feelings and behaviour and to develop new ways of resolving and responding to difficulties.

Counselling

Enabling clients to work through here and now difficulties, to resolve them and make the changes they want. Counselling can focus on responses to trauma, grief, stress, anger, life decisions or difficulties with confidence and assertion.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy addresses longer term difficulties, often stemming from childhood, and therefore can be of longer duration. It addresses recurring difficulties and entrenched conflicts which impact on our ability to live life in an enjoyable and satisfying way.

Supervision Services

Supervision focuses on practitioners ongoing development with the focus on the well being of the client the person works with. Paula supervises a variety of professionals working with children and adolescents and adults:
